This plastic arts workshop led by the designer and painter Souha Yaakoubi and delivered in Spring and Automn 2021 targets children between the ages of ten and twelve at the Bab Souika primary school.
The workshop aims to help children learn the fundamentals of visual arts and to familiarize them with the essential creation techniques, all the while developing their creativity and imagination.
Throughout the different sessions, the children are encouraged to create bi- or tri-dimensional projects inspired from the works of great masters which are presented to them in order to highlight different creation techniques and to open new avenues for thought.
The global objectives of the workshop are to promote interactive, stimulating meetings between children and to encourage them to invest in exploring new things. Transposing, transforming, projecting, associating… Inspiring themes that support the process to help them on their journey with this material.
They learn the different steps in the creation of a work of art as well as the techniques and processes for each medium (paint, drawing, mixed techniques, collage, modelling…) They create while acquiring knowledge of diverse aspects of popular and classical culture and having fun.
>> Each year, this workshop gives rise to an exhibition of the children's work in May-June. In 2022, it was on 28 May at L'Art Rue.
